Here are activities we offer during the cold season, and if you're interested in an activity that is not on the list, feel free to inquire!
Skiing / Snowboarding
Discover the finest powder snow and snow monsters!
Variety of skiing / snowboarding activities are available at Mt. Hakkoda, which boasts great powder snow with long ski runs. Backcountry / sidecountry skiing are also available, and we at Mori-No-Akari are happy to take you to, and guide Mt. Hakkoda. You can enjoy famous ice-covered trees, known as Snow Monsters as well!

Exploring the white woods
Make your way through deep snow and bask in the mysterious winter quietness. A tour guide will make sure that you your destination safely.
Snowmobiling
When manpower alone isn't enough
Our snowmobiling activity, which is conducted under our guides' supervision, will show you something you have never seen—a new perspective and experience of snow mountains.

Snow Trekking and Snowmobiling!
Snow trekking the mountains covered with a deep layer of snow wearing snowshoes is a popular activity. If you are in a mood for a ride in the deep snow, take a tour with our Snow tractor or snowmobile. Enjoy the winter with our special winter course!

- Location: Mori No Akari (Kuroishi Itadome)
- Price: 9000 yen / person (tax is included in the price)
*Please make a reservation with a group larger than 2 people.
*The participating people should be at least 18 years old and in good health.
*Snowmobile riding is a tandem ride and your guide will drive it.
*Snow tubing will be conducted depending on the weather conditions.
* Injury insurance is included in the price.
*One can change the course of snow trekking only.Snow Trekking and Snow BBQ!
Enjoy a BBQ in the snow after the first half of the winter.

Keiko Yonesaka
Certified Mountain Guide of Japan Mountain Guides Association
With her long experience as a mountain guide, our full-time staff Keiko conducts a variety of mountain tours throughout the year. She hosts a regular trekking program at a local TV station, also organizing photo exhibition and cooking classes.
Takuya Fukushi
Owner of Mori-no-Akari
Takuya is the owner of Mori-no-Akari, along with many other facilities around the region. He is also a canyoning guide and an experienced skier who is very knowledgeable about Mt. Hakkoda in winter. Both in summer and winter, he will be there to guide you to the course that suites you the best.

Although famous for skiing, Tsugaru / Hakkoda area is no less attractive in summer! Get active and check out the exciting things you can do with Mori-No-Akari.
